Hello!
My name is Ruth Boeder, and I am an academic composition instructor, researcher, and librarian. I have six years experience providing library services to support liberal arts education, especially in the field of English studies. I'm a passionate advocate for information literacy instruction as I firmly believe that the ability to navigate increasingly complex and cluttered data sets will only become more crucial as we continue through the 21st century.
This passion has led me to pursue a PhD in English with a specialization in Rhetoric and Composition (anticipated graduation: May 2018). My research projects examine the teaching of secondary research in freshman composition classes as the intersection between information literacy and writing instruction. I also study digital literacy, media culture, civic engagement and activism.
