Instructional Videos
This is a video I created to explain the difference between scholarly articles and magazine articles. After speaking with professors and working with students, I realized that many current college students lack this basic understanding. This video attempts to explain the value of each and why and when each should be used. It was made by recording a narration over a PowerPoint presentation, making it possible to use the same presentation in many instruction situations. Despite some issues with sound levels, the video has been viewed over 3,000 times on YouTube.

I firmly believe that an understanding of the structure and organization of databases is essential to using them correctly. Unfortunately, this topic is frequently neglected in library instruction sessions when there are too many topics to fit in a single hour. I created this video to supplement face-to-face sessions, and it explains in very broad and basic detail how databases are created and used to organize information, and partnered it with a paper copy of the chart on the page or an in-class quiz to reinforce learning. I used Camtasia Studio to produce this video.
